This outfit is again absolute eye candy for me!  The light mint and white colours are just divine, simply divine!  I love the look of lace and pastels mixed, and have therefore done that for this outfit.   The lovely ruffled top, shell necklace and beaded bracelets are all that lovely mint colour.  The lace scarf, knitted cardigan (which also have shell buttons by the by) and the skirt are all white.  I love the look of ivory and cream with vintage colours as you well know, however due to my skin tone and eye and hair colour, I look far better in clear colours such as white, or even mint.  I do try to make other colours work, but mostly I have to face the brutal truth. 😉  Warm colours do not altogether suit me.

I absolutely love the look of these periwinkle flowers with the outfit.  In fact, wearing that colour with mint would look lovely too!  You can’t really see the shoes that I’m wearing, but they are the same as in the last post – silver sandals.

Yellow would also look lovely with these colours, makes me think of the sky – yellow sun, blue sky, white clouds!  Aaah, bring on the summer!

Rhesa had a brilliant idea in regards to a photo setting.  The two photos of me sitting and lying in the buttercup filled strip of foliage reminded both of us of  the cover of a fashion mag. 😉  The lighting was perfect.  Anyway, take a look and see what you think 🙂  If you have any questions about colouring or dressing, comment and I’ll reply (after talking to my fashion pro sis of mine of course).

I wore a simpler version of this outfit a couple of years ago actually – minus the scarf and bracelets.  Lydia helped me style that one long ago…

Bless you all today and over this next week!

The next outfit will be coming soon… if you have any requests in regards to some posts, I’d be happy to seriously consider some ideas.  We’ll have an accessory post coming up soon.  We finally took some photos of our shoes and scarves which I’m sure that you’ll love looking at soon!  Another idea, having a remix post.  I’ve seen quite a few bloggers do this.  You dig up a few past photos that have been on the blog of you wearing the same item of clothing.  Also a bits and pieces post could be fun.  Rather like instagram.  I rather enjoy photography also, so you might see a bit of it up here.  Could be interesting 🙂

Let me know what you think!

Yes I am. Cause I know they’ll come, and soon. The day that we did this fashion photo shoot was beautifully sunny and I didn’t feel cold standing in this when being photographed, as opposed to most days in the winter when I stand freezing, trying to look relaxed and unconcerned.  However, the truth is that I soon rush back into the house or chuck my dressing gown over me, thus effectively ruining my previously stylish look 😉

Ok, about this outfit.  This beautiful, floral, halter-neck dress is from the Philippines, and when paired with a nice white or coloured shrug to hide the lack of sleeves, it looks fabulous! I love it, the epitomy of summer for me. Oh yes, and this cool floppy, beach hat!  Makes me think of those sunny days goin’ to the beach.  Yeah!  The sun, the waves, the seagulls souring overhead, picnic basket in hand, swimming, good friends with good conversation.  God’s creation never ceases to amaze me, and in all seasons I see something which makes me marvel afresh at God’s creativity.  It inspires me!

I’m also wearing some awesome silver sandals to go with this summery look!  Enjoy, and please do let me know what your favourite part of summer is.  I’m really looking forward to painting my nails with bright colours!  Let’s get into the mood early peeps. 🙂

I’m really excited to reveal these next outfits to you over the course of a few weeks.  They are so cute and summery.  Rhesa’s new camera is a dream, let me tell you!  And our outdoor settings are beautiful.  Pink and purple, what can go wrong?!

Blessings on you all today!

Hi Everyone,

Alrighty, we are now beginning the next fashion photo shoot, which is ‘A Little Different’.  Lydia has put together some outfits which are a tad different from what we’ve previously put together.  There are some outfits in here involving trousers!  Yes, you heard correctly, and no, we don’t always wear skirts either, though we do enjoy it!

I have been rather busy this last week which explains my lack of activity on the web here lately.  However, I hope to rectify the matter by posting these new looks from out latest fashion shoot.  We are at a different location for the outfits this time, and it’s awesome!

This skirt is amazing.  I do a fair bit of my shopping at places like Valley Girl because they are pretty cheap.  Their clothes are not always made to last, however often I find items that are exactly my style in that shop.  Ok, so, I have been really wanting one of these ironed pleated skirts for quite a while now, and when I saw this at Valley Girl for the amazing price of $10 I bought it, along with this really nice white and navy knitted cardigan.  I was really looking forward to putting an outfit together with these pieces, and here it is!  The tucked in and belted look is very trendy if you ask me, and a perfect transional outfit from summer to autumn.

The cute black shoes really finish this outfit off and make it the perfect going out look.  If it makes any difference, I believe this outfit has the male seal of approval, as my brothers and Dad all reckon it’s pretty cool, and they think that I ought to dress like this all the time.

Just a quick note, I think there are several reasons why people dress as they do.  I belive it’s primarily to establish a good opinion of themselves in other’s eyes, and it is true, that people will sometimes base their opinion of you on your appearance.  Secondly, we do it to make ourselves feel good.  So, yes, I do believe that we should dress nicely, reflecting our own personal style, but that is not the most important factor in someone’s life.  What’s inside of them is the most important.  Who they are the is the most important.  And I wanted to say that, because although I post a lot about fashion and clothes and style, I don’t want you to believe that that is what defines someone.  I know I have stressed individual style, but being your own person is not about your style, it is about who you are as a person.

Thank you, and enjoy.

Happy belated Easter!

Esther

We are back from our lovely two week holiday by the sea and it was such fun.

This next post is worn often by Lydia and in my opinion looks very vintage. If you have read this blog long enough, you will have realised that I love the vintage style and look, (I must say that almost every post!)

The 50’s style dress combined with the lovely knit cardigan and matching heels stands out as a very stylish outfit. The simple pale pink combined with the darker blue creates a pleasing contrast. The long cameo necklace also adds another touch of vintage to this outfit.

These high necked 50’s dresses are very ‘in’ this season and are sold in many different colours and fabrics.

There is really no more to be said on the outfit as the pictures say it all. Enjoy!

Have a great week and check back here soon for another outfit in the Welcome Summer fashion photo shoot. It is a late summer I admit, so “Welcome late summer!”

Hello everyone,

Welcome to our latest fashion photo shoot, taken on Monday.  It is entitled Welcome Summer and in it there will be six different outfits and each post will include photos, tips, trends, and practical advice from Creative Touch to you!  We hope you’ll enjoy these next posts and that you’ll learn a lot from them, so without further ado, I give you, Welcome Summer!

This post is titled Tribal Inspired, because of the style of this outfit.  The skirt is handmade by Lydia and features bright and bold, large prints.  We have added a simple pink cami and brown cardigan to go with it.  We’ve brought it all together with a large brown belt that has gold detailing as you’ll see in the close up shot.  By adding a large bead necklace and a few wooden bead bracelets, we’ve finished off the tribal look.

If you’ve been looking in your latest fashion magazines, which to be honest, most of us don’t right? Well, even if you haven’t, I do occasionally and I’ve noticed that prints, large and small, have featured a lot. The tribal look and animal prints are also ‘in’ this summer. I know that we are more than half way through the summer but, these trends will certainly be ‘in’ for a few months yet. And goodness! Who cares if they aren’t. Wear them anyway and you’ll feel great and stylish!

We believe at Creative Touch that you should dress differently to the mass multitudes of girls wearing crop tops and cut-off denim shorty shorts. We all need our own personal style and that’s our aim, to help you find yours! Individuality is what people will notice, they’ll respect you for it. Also, it’s fun to develop your style and feel unique and different. 🙂 This outfit is definitely unique, and although not to everyone’s taste, it’s individual and for your interest, this is Lydia’s style of clothing.

Enjoy this outfit and we look forward to sharing the next one with you!

Yes, I was in a rather odd mood for part of our fashion photo shoot, you know, doing those poses all day long just gets to ya…

Enjoy your weekend!
Esther

We will now return from our brief interlude – the review on Modest Sea – and come back to, the White Shorts Series.

This second outfit has a definite summer feel, which is fitting, as the weather over here in New Zealand is improving!  I believe I feel another fashion photo shoot coming along, in which Lydia will be organising the outfits.  Wasn’t it great last time?!

You can also wear other blouses with these shorts, I have two button up blouses with floral patterns that look lovely with these shorts.  Very feminine, but still practical.  I really like the look of these two colours together.  There’s a place for lovely, soft pastels , but bright, bold, opposite colours look stunning together and really catch your eye.  Not to mention, that this outfit reminds me of a lovely summer sky, the bright blue expanse dotted with fluffy, white clouds.

Have a look at the photos below.  I hope you’re enjoying this series, my basic aim is to show you how you can achieve different looks by changing just one part of the outfit.  Experiment yourself, as I’m sure this principle can apply to lots of other items in your wardrobe.

Enjoy your summer and the upcoming lovely weather!

Esther
