Hello there folks,

So, I’m going to do something a little different today.  If you’d like to see the specifics and interest behind this outfit, please see below the pictures.  Right now however, I really must share a story with you… a rather embarrassing and stupid story about me.  I believe that there’s no point in doing anything silly if you can’t share it with someone else, so… here goes people.  My latest greatest.

It was just after lunchtime and I’m sitting at my desk busily studying away.  Each day I allot a certain amount of time for my school subjects, and usually, I manage to complete, in time, all the tasks that I assign to myself.  This is where I was, just finishing my study for a test that I have tomorrow.  I look at my watch, noting that the big hand was just on the half-past mark, and the small hand, assumedly on the 2.  I hurriedly get myself ready and jump into my car, thinking that I won’t need to bring my coat to work today as the weather seems quite mild.  I hop in and start to drive down the road.  As I drive, some rather weighty water drops begin to fall, causing me to flick on my window wipers, first on a slow speed and then faster.  Suddenly I realize that not only have I purposely and stupidly left my jacket at home, but there is also no umbrella to be seen in the confines of my small car.  Drat!  I arrive at my local village and note dismally that the raindrops haven’t ceased at all.  Deciding to brave it, I grab my bag, jump out of the car, lock the door and flee for the safetly of the covered pavement.  I run the short distance to the church hall where my job is located getting thoroughly soaked in the doing so.  Thinking all the while, “Man, will I be glad to get inside… I must look like a drowned rat!”  I reach the relative safety of the hall deck and peer inside the window to find…  that nobody’s there.  The lights are off.  No soul in sight.  My heart suddenly sinks.  Quickly glancing at my watch, I realise with a deep sense of dread that it’s NOT 2:30… but instead, 1:30!!!  I’d failed to meticulously check that stupid little watch hand!  NOOO!  With nothing left to do, I dash back into the rain, the deluge thoroughly wetting me in the process.  I hear thunder in the distance… and as I’m almost to my car, it begins to hail.  Hair dripping and denim soaked I make the last sprint.  Fumbling around, I finally snatch the keys out of my wet bag and try desperately to fit them into the key-hole.  It seems to take forever, all the while more hail and more rain continue to pour down upon me.  Finally I grab the door handle, yanking it open and dive into my car.  Slamming the door behind me I sit panting.  Eager to get rid of my drenched garments I peel off my cardigan and scarf, realizing that all this could have been avoided if only I had looked at that watch properly!  The windows are fogged up, the rain still pours down and another flash of lightening appears as I sit for another full 10 minutes trying to decide what to do…  In the end I came home, wasting at least half an hour of my time and a full change of clothes as well as dampening my dignity… quite literally.  The irony, well there’s a lot of irony in this story… and I’m reluctant to say that this is not the first time that I have made that mistake… may it be the last.

The End. 😉  Another wonderful day in the life of Esther.

Here are my outfit photos, taken on a much sunnier day than today and below, as promised, are a few interesting things to note about this outfit…

The stripey shoes again!  And this top is actually a denim dress – another number I bought for $1 at that clothing sale.  It’s a bit short on me, so layering it up with a skirt was an awesome choice!  It’s just a little bit nautical and suggests summer – exciting times ahead.  The darker blue of the blazer with the light blue denim matches very  nicely with the white and black – classic colours.  Simple jewellery was all that this outfit needed.  And I quite like the variety that the detail on the neckline brings.  Hope you enjoyed my whacky jumping photo!  My photographer friend can do it oh-so-much better than I… but hey, I tried – as proof by my flying lanky arms and legs 😉 heh

Have a fab rest of your week peoples!

Every now and again I like to choose random titles for my posts.  Weeeell actually, don’t tell anybody, but that’s just my excuse.  I’ve told you many, many times that I always find it ridiculously hard to come up with a title, but I thought that the colours in this dress were just too amazing to miss out on an obvious recognition.  Well it’s good enough for me anyway.

Sadly, this dress doesn’t belong to me, but to my sis Lydia.  I know what you’re thinking peeps – “Gosh, does this girl have any clothes to her name?!!!”  But it’s not what you think, really.  I just adore Lydia’s new clothes so much that I have to feature them here on this blog and make sure you know about them. 😉  Just tell me if you’re sick of it, ok?

This beautiful item is from Ezibuy and takes Maxis to a new level.  Seriously, how can you not feel ladylike as you swish across the floor in this gorgeous number?  The colourful, floral chiffon of the dress moves with such ease.  Rhesa and I just couldn’t resist taking advantage of the stain-glassed window to persuade you of the beauty of the dress.  In order for this dress to be modest, I did have to wear a camisole underneath, but I really didn’t think it took away from the look at all.  The simplicity of the design of the dress is complemented by the vibrancy of the fabric’s colours.  I finished off the look by adding a lovely, glass-design necklace from…. David Tasker Designer Jewellery.  He actually designs these himself and each of them look very unique.  A nice touch I thought.  Oh, and I love the pleated design on the bodice 🙂

Enjoy folks!  Suggestions for more posts are welcome as I have nothing particular planned for the next couple of weeks.  Maybe another hair tutorial will come your way… who knows…

These photos were taken around-ish Christmas, so it’s about time to bring you another photo shoot.  I’ve been incredibly busy over the holidays, but as order is restored to my life with the beginning of school, I hope to find some more time to post on this blog.  My birthday was over the holidays and I had a lovely time dancing with my friends.  I’ve also managed to go the movies a ridiculous amount of times… let’s just not go there, ok?  So, what where you all up to in your summer or Christmas break?

God bless you all folks, as we head into the New Year!
