Hi there, I hope you all enjoyed those style tips from Ruby Girl in the last post. I’d encourage you to go and check out her blog to see more of her outfits and style.

Recently, my photographer, Rhesa, and I got together and thought it was about time for another fashion photo shoot.  So, we both put together a few outfits which I’ll be showing and writing about over the next week or so.  Lydia, our makeup artist and stylist wasn’t available, so Rhesa and I put these together.  See what you think, they’ll both sport inspirations from both Rhesa’s and my taste in style.  We are also using a few pieces of Lydia’s clothing as well.

Lydia has had this dress for a little while and as of yet, hasn’t worn it.  I thought it would be great to have a go in styling it.  Since the dress is strapless, Rhesa came up with the idea of wearing a blouse over the top and employing the very popular tie-up style that so many girls are wearing these days.  You’ll see what I mean in a minute.  This is the first time I have ever done it, but I was happy with the result.

By using basically only two pieces of clothing, we created a very cute outfit.  Although I am generally not an advocate of mixing prints, I think that this works well, as both the prints are small, one being light coloured, the other darker.  It is a rather simple outfit, but by mixing these prints I don’t believe it needs much more, just add some cute shoes and some jewellery and you’re set to go.

These next three posts will all employ the use of vintage props, so you’ll see something a little different.  Hope you enjoy!

It was such fun posing with that old telephone!  Oh, and just a note, the watercolour picture that you see in the background of two of the photos was painted by my amazingly talented brother… it seems as though I have a few of those 😉  He is a great artist, and that is just one of several hanging up in our house.

Have a nice weekend everybody, and stay tuned for more outfits and a hair tutorial.  I’m very inspired with styling hair atm, probably because of some tutorials I saw on Youtube.  I even tried to do a small french braid in my hair today!  It turned out…. um…  ok :-/

P.S.  Those shoes feature in all the outfits, just cause they’re awesome and go with just about everything!  I love ’em.

What I wore:

  • Aqua print dress – given to my sister
  • Floral blouse – Cotton On, $10 on SALE
  • Black shoes – Hannahs, $20 – 25 on SALE

I’m really excited to announce that the next post on this blog will be one from Lindsey over at Ruby Girl!

I enjoy looking at her blog often and seeing what unique and cute outfits she comes up with.  As a Christian, she believes in modest fashion too, and that’s what I’ve asked her to talk about in her post.  I’m really looking forward to it and I hope you are too.  I thought a guest post would be interesting for you readers to look at.  You might possibly learn something new from her style and I think it’s a good opportunity to have a look at someone else’s view on fashion.

You may have noticed my Fashion & Faith button on the side.  If you ever clicked on it, it would have taken you to a page on Ruby Girl’s blog which has a whole list of ladies’ blogs who are also Christians and post about fashion.  She has a whole network of people joined up to this.  So, if you ever feel the need to go have a look at a few different blogs, then click on my Fashion & Faith button, and you’ll have a whole lot to choose from.

These photos are just a few that Matt (my twin brother) took of me in Autumn before the weather turned cold.  Yes sir, it’s cold here.  We don’t get snow, but frost and it got to 1 degree last night!

I love seeing the beautiful scenery reflected in the window!

Aaaand, I know that the foreground is in focus for two of these, but just keep in mind that this shoot was more technique than fashion.  You know the, “Wow, I bet having the less interesting foreground in focus would look much cooler than having the subject in focus…” kind of thing. 🙂  Just joking people, it was purposeful!
