Floral skirt - 1

This is classic me.  Layers, vintage, oxfords, floral, and a tie-up blouse.  It’s awesome – but I wear it sparingly, for fear that it might become too ‘old’.  Most of these outfits that I’ve put together in this series are ones that I wear quite often now – just a bit of a look into what I actually wear in my day-to-day life.  When I say day-to-day life, I really only mean Sunday…  sadly.  It’s because of my busy work life – I’ve only got about 1 week left of study, and then my work hours will increase.  At the moment I work two jobs – an After School Care job every afternoon and a job at a florist all day Saturday.  So my only dress-up day is Sunday for church!  This limits my freedom to try out different things, but it also means I can re-wear a lot of outfits without them getting ‘old’ so to say.  Yep, I do realise that that completely nullifies my previous conundrum.  I’m constantly contradicting myself… you’ll get used to it. 😉

There’s really not much to say about this outfit – it’s cute and vintage, and if you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you’ll know that it’s totally me.  This skirt was about $10 from Valley Girl – a nice affordable shop here in NZ.  The prices and places of each of the other items of clothing will be located at the bottom of this post as usual.

A new shop has opened up in our local mall – it’s called Mirrou.  It’s quite vintage and fashionable and I scored a couple of really cheap items in their 50% off store-wide weekend sale.  One item was a nice, light knit jumper ($12.50!!!).  I’ve been wanting one for ages and I really like it!  Wearing it now actually.  Apparently it’s not everyone’s cup of tea though… at my After School Care job one of the kids came up to me and the following conversation ensued:

Kid: “What are you wearing?  It looks weird.”

Me: “Um, it’s a knit jumper.  What’s wrong with it?”

Kid: “It just looks weird.”  *pause*  “Did your Grandma knit it for you?”

Me: “Uh… nooo…”

Kid: “Good, cause if she had that would’ve been really weird…”

Me: “Well, she didn’t knit it.  These jumpers are really fashionable at the moment!”

Kid: “I don’t really like it.”

Me: “Well, we all have different tastes…”

Haha, children’s conversations crack me up!  I could start writing a book. 😉  Anyway, enjoy these photos of my last outfit from the photo shoot!  Thinking of a hair tutorial next…
