So yes, this is a rather abstract print isn’t it?  If you wanna tell me what you think it is, go for it.  It kind of reminds me of wrapped lollies, which isn’t really a bad thing now is it?

This dress was about $15 from Cotton On – a good shop btw, I bought my first fav blouse from there.  I will never forget it (still have it).  This is an outfit I’ve worn a couple of times.  I waver between liking it and not… only because sometimes I feel that the dress is a tad short for me.  Only sometimes though.  How’s that for the classic indecisive female, huh?  It’s not really too short generally (esp. when worn with thick leggings) but occasionally I’m conscious of the long gangly appendages that I possess. 😉  Haha, anyway, gotta be happy with what you have, right?  And appendages are not what define you… thankfully.

I’m starting to realize even more that I have a thing for blue.  Generally it’s one of my best colours to wear.  Do you have one colour that works really well for you?  I think it’s important to know what that is, because it’s an easy fall-back when one isn’t feeling too inspired.  I like to mix textures – this outfit exhibits it well.  Although, I tend to be a bit less adventurous in regards to mixing prints, textures is a different story.  The smooth blue of the blazer mixed with the lace scarf and printed dress is a good combination.  And let me just say that these ankle boots are a new favourite of mine. 🙂

I was trying to do something with my hair… ‘trying’ being the operative word. 😉  Didn’t work, but hey… I um don’t have a comeback.

Here I am!

Ok ok, a hoodie, huh?  Yep that’s right!  Never thought you’d see the day, did ya?  Though, I don’t really understand what the big deal is…

I’m constantly being told how lady-like I am and the word ‘posh’ has been used on occasion… I’m still trying to work out what this means and whether it’s a compliment or not.  Anyway, I guess it really doesn’t matter.  But I’ll admit it, wearing a hoodie certainly is a change from my usual vintage, feminine style.  And look, I talked about this outfit a little in my last post so I’ll spare you the description.  Let’s just say, when I wear this, I feel so comfortable and stylish at the same time.  Who said hoodies can’t be styled well??

Oh, and a quick word about those shoes… my Grandma bought them for me for the grand price of $8!!!  Talk about a deal!  Anyway, sometimes it’s nice to add a bit of interest to an outfit like this.  That bit of interest for this outfit is in the form of those striped ballet flats.

Recently I went to a second-hand clothes sale.  I snatched up some good deals, but the best find came just 2 mins after I walked through the door.  There, sitting on the shoe table I saw a beautiful pair of tan, oxford heels!!  *sigh*  I’m wearing them now… lucky I’m used to being tall though, these pretties make me over 6 ft. 😉

Watched Twilight last night… 😐  I don’t understand…  And the Notebook the other day… (I know I’ll get a lot of hate for this) but I’m sorry, I really don’t understand the hype about Ryan Gosling?!  Ok, done.

Anyway, enjoy the extended version of my fav casual outfit!  Props to Rhesa for these lovely photos 😀

I realise I may have said a lot of the above stuff before in my last post… please accept my humble apologies 😉

Oh, and a bit of link love – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3wSbLa2uGg  This accapella song is AMAZING!!!  It makes me stop whatever else I’m doing and just listen.  I even paused writing this post to listen to it again.

Until next time…!

Hi there, I hope you all enjoyed those style tips from Ruby Girl in the last post. I’d encourage you to go and check out her blog to see more of her outfits and style.

Recently, my photographer, Rhesa, and I got together and thought it was about time for another fashion photo shoot.  So, we both put together a few outfits which I’ll be showing and writing about over the next week or so.  Lydia, our makeup artist and stylist wasn’t available, so Rhesa and I put these together.  See what you think, they’ll both sport inspirations from both Rhesa’s and my taste in style.  We are also using a few pieces of Lydia’s clothing as well.

Lydia has had this dress for a little while and as of yet, hasn’t worn it.  I thought it would be great to have a go in styling it.  Since the dress is strapless, Rhesa came up with the idea of wearing a blouse over the top and employing the very popular tie-up style that so many girls are wearing these days.  You’ll see what I mean in a minute.  This is the first time I have ever done it, but I was happy with the result.

By using basically only two pieces of clothing, we created a very cute outfit.  Although I am generally not an advocate of mixing prints, I think that this works well, as both the prints are small, one being light coloured, the other darker.  It is a rather simple outfit, but by mixing these prints I don’t believe it needs much more, just add some cute shoes and some jewellery and you’re set to go.

These next three posts will all employ the use of vintage props, so you’ll see something a little different.  Hope you enjoy!

It was such fun posing with that old telephone!  Oh, and just a note, the watercolour picture that you see in the background of two of the photos was painted by my amazingly talented brother… it seems as though I have a few of those 😉  He is a great artist, and that is just one of several hanging up in our house.

Have a nice weekend everybody, and stay tuned for more outfits and a hair tutorial.  I’m very inspired with styling hair atm, probably because of some tutorials I saw on Youtube.  I even tried to do a small french braid in my hair today!  It turned out…. um…  ok :-/

P.S.  Those shoes feature in all the outfits, just cause they’re awesome and go with just about everything!  I love ’em.
