Here I am!

Ok ok, a hoodie, huh?  Yep that’s right!  Never thought you’d see the day, did ya?  Though, I don’t really understand what the big deal is…

I’m constantly being told how lady-like I am and the word ‘posh’ has been used on occasion… I’m still trying to work out what this means and whether it’s a compliment or not.  Anyway, I guess it really doesn’t matter.  But I’ll admit it, wearing a hoodie certainly is a change from my usual vintage, feminine style.  And look, I talked about this outfit a little in my last post so I’ll spare you the description.  Let’s just say, when I wear this, I feel so comfortable and stylish at the same time.  Who said hoodies can’t be styled well??

Oh, and a quick word about those shoes… my Grandma bought them for me for the grand price of $8!!!  Talk about a deal!  Anyway, sometimes it’s nice to add a bit of interest to an outfit like this.  That bit of interest for this outfit is in the form of those striped ballet flats.

Recently I went to a second-hand clothes sale.  I snatched up some good deals, but the best find came just 2 mins after I walked through the door.  There, sitting on the shoe table I saw a beautiful pair of tan, oxford heels!!  *sigh*  I’m wearing them now… lucky I’m used to being tall though, these pretties make me over 6 ft. 😉

Watched Twilight last night… 😐  I don’t understand…  And the Notebook the other day… (I know I’ll get a lot of hate for this) but I’m sorry, I really don’t understand the hype about Ryan Gosling?!  Ok, done.

Anyway, enjoy the extended version of my fav casual outfit!  Props to Rhesa for these lovely photos 😀

I realise I may have said a lot of the above stuff before in my last post… please accept my humble apologies 😉

Oh, and a bit of link love – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3wSbLa2uGg  This accapella song is AMAZING!!!  It makes me stop whatever else I’m doing and just listen.  I even paused writing this post to listen to it again.

Until next time…!

Ok, so I’ve been talking about this post for a while now.  I’m very excited because while I do really enjoy taking fashion photo shoots and sharing different and lovely outfits with you, I also am enjoying these posts which are less to do with outfits but are still definitely included in the topic of fashion.

These next three posts are about my top three places that I love to shop.  They’ve made this list because of the nice clothes they sell, their good quality and pleasing customer service.  All three are online, so you can go check out what they have to offer in the way of clothes and accessories.

Before we begin, let me just reassure you that this is NOT a sponsored post.  Great, ok, let’s get on with it shall we?

First up – Ezibuy

Ezibuy Oct 11 blueThe thing that I like about Ezibuy is the variety of clothes that they sell.  They keep up with the trends while still selling very different clothing than a lot of the popular shops these days.  When you wear their clothes it makes you feel uniquely dressed among the masses of teen-age girls wearing the same sort of outfit.  It is more of a grown up store and a bit pricier as a consequence, but the clothing is good quality and worth it over buying something from a shop like Valley Girl where the clothes really don’t last that long.  Also, the pieces are very feminine and trendy.  Ezibuy sells a variety of different styles and make sure that they stay up to date with the fashion trends of the seasons.  If you sign up to Ezibuy, you will frequently receive a magazine for free in the mail.  Ezibuy has an online store as well as a few brick-and-mortar shops.  I have bought from both and both have pros and cons.  I generally prefer to order online as they have the whole range available while the shop generally only has the new range in.  However there are risks buying online.  Wrong size, different colour than shown etc.  However, when I have had to return or exchange items, it’s really quick and easy and you don’t have to pay any extra for the postage.  The colours are generally the same as shown and there is a size guide on the website.  They sell clothes from several different brands, I like the Emerge and Capture brands the best as they are most suited to youth.  I have had a good experience with this shop and love the clothes and shoes that they sell.  Here are three items that I have on my wish list:

rosehip capris

white lace dress pic

Love those clothes.  All very feminine.  Lace, floral, pink!  😀  Anyway… before you start to think that I’m a girly girl I will just say that I have gone on many an adventure in my life, coasteering, orienteering, hiking, etc. and have the scars to prove it!

Now that I have finished school and work for the year, I will have a bit more time to share some Christmas decor pics and holiday outfits.  With a couple of bits and pieces posts thrown in there.

Merry Christmas!

Talk to you soon,

Esther

Hi readers! Here is the next outfit from our mini photoshoot. If you’re anything like me, and you love vintage and feminine style, then I think you’ll like this outfit. I LOVE wearing dresses, as it makes me feel so feminine, and my brothers love it when I wear them too 🙂 However, it’s so difficult to find a warm dress in winter! Tunics work to a certain degree, but what I’m talking about, is a dress that you can wear with tights, where the hem isn’t closer to your waistline than to your knees, something that I can feel comfortable wearing without dying of cold. It was a long and hard search (when I actually did search for one) but my Mum and I finally did find one which looked lovely on! Here it is, here is my Little Black Dress.

The reason for wanting one of these? Here is a list:

  • They are so versatile, you can style them with shoes in autumn, boots and tights in winter, and sandals in the spring.
  • You can do so much with it! Put a blouse underneath, or a long-sleeve with a coat, chuck a scarf around your neck, or a statement piece of jewellery, wear a cardigan when it’s warm, or a coat when it’s not. The range of ideas is endless!
  • If you suit black, then an LBD is the way to go, because black practically goes with any colour.
  • Buy a warm dress, and you won’t have to suffer for fashion.

Ok, so those are a few reasons to buy one, my decision was based on those actually and also inspired by this blogger, who wore an LBD and styled it differently for 100 days to raise money for orphans in India I believe. By the end of last year, she reached her goal of raising $50,000. I really enjoyed watching how she styled the dress differently and perhaps that is when I realised how useful an LBD would be. (The link I have provided is a video that compiled all the 100 outfits together).

In this outfit, I wanted to bring across a rather vintage feel. I did this by employing the use of a long cream coat. I aboslutely love coats, especially the ones that reach to your knees! The image that I wanted to give was of a girl living way back, waiting for the train to arrive, holding her suitcase, all dressed up warmly to protect against the warm cold winters day. (Ha, here’s me wishin’ it was warm :-P)

Enjoy the photos and the use of another vintage prop. Rhesa and I also used a beautiful rose in these photos.

It was raining!  This helped… sorta.

Also, I have to give credit to Rhesa for helping me style this outfit, and yet again being our amazing photographer!

Enjoy what’s left of your weekend and for all you Kiwis out there, enjoy the hols!

Esther
