I was so, so excited to shoot the photos for this outfit, and also to see how they turned out.  I am in LOVE with them!  And I know that could sound terribly vain, girly, conceited and all of that other stuff… however, I am particularly in love with the location.  I look forward to the blossoming of these cascading purple flowers each year with great anticipation and hope to catch some lovely pics of them.  This year, we managed to take many photos, and I even did a bit of nature photography myself, which I might include in a separate post if you are interested.

Ok, enough drooling over those amazing, lovely, beautiful, gorgeous… um, yes right, ok.  This outfit is based around a chiffon, floral dress that I bought from a thrift store a while ago – $7!  For a while I was rather uninspired about styling this outfit, but with the help of Lydia, we managed to yet agian use our layering technique along with my awesome navy blazer to create this stylish and rather formal outfit.  We styled it long ago here… yes, I think it looks much better like this 😉

We have talked about that base black dress many times.  It truly is an LBD, and we have used it often to add a bit of length to an otherwise short tunic or dress.  Perfect, and I highly recommend the purchase of one of these.  An LBD can be anything from a navy, black or brown colour with sleeves or no sleeves.  It basically equals a dress with great versatility and value that can work as a staple piece of clothing to be used over and over again.

I was about to point you to some other outfits which used either the black dress or navy blazer, but I think it’ll make good material for a remix post, so… nevermind 😉

I like the look of the small print with the solid navy colour in this outfit.  And of course the buttons on the blazer really make it 😉

Righty ho, now, GO!  …to have a look at the photos of course 😀

Beautiful location, beautiful clothes…. aaah, yes, summer do come soon please!

Bless you all over the weekend, may you all enjoy revelling in God’s awesome creation!

Alrighty, so what’s with the title you may (or may not) ask. Ok, I owe you an explanation, so here goes:

I always find it very hard to come up with names for my posts, unlike a lot of other fashion bloggers out there. When I come up to the part where I have to write the title, I procrastinate and to be honest, go and ask Lydia what she thinks, though, nine times out of ten I just name it anyway. However, today was different, I started off with the usual, “Oh golly, what do I title this post?!” and then, “Um, Lydia, what do you think I should call it?” Then, brain-wave, I think of something just as Lydia says, “I think you should call it Off to Work.” (This will become clear in a min). I say, “Hmmm, a bit boring don’tcha think?” Well, Lydia doesn’t think so, but I know you are all dying to hear what my brain-wave was right?! It is, obviously, Lacey Days! It’s lame I know, and deserving of a groan, but I was sort of proud of my title, however, to appease both of us, I put Off to Work/Lacey Days up there. It’s only now, as I look at it, that I really begin to see that it’s rather oxymoronic, you know, going off to work, then the play off using lazy days. There you go! You now understand why, and have wasted over a minute of your precious time as well as reading my rather pointless explanation.

This post features a lovely fully lace crop-top. You may have noticed, that at the moment, full lace dresses and tops are in fashion. Glassons features many lace pieces from lace crop-tops to long, lace singlets. These can be see through with only the lace layer or backed with a lining and featuring a collar in matching material. All are lovely and rather my style, so I’m thrilled what this season has to bring us. Ezibuy also features a large range of lace outfits and pieces. Their latest magazine entitled, The Allure of Lace, has something to say about this latest style. “With a romantic heritage and a thoroughly modern makeover, these stunning lace separates are sure-fire style winners.” The cover page features a beautiful, bergundy, three-quarter sleeved lace dress and some of the first pages are filled with models wearing romantic lace tops and dresses.

Although this outfit is noticed because of the lace top, it is placed overtop of a simple black, singlet-style dress which we have mentioned before in a few of our posts. A black dress is definitely a versatile piece to own.

Lydia wears this to work often and finds it comfortable and stylish and has received many comments on the lace crop-top.

Go into Glassons and have a look to see what I’m talking about, and do yourself a favour and buy something! 🙂
